Impressive Strength for Demanding Events

MILOS Steel PA Towers provide unbelievably large loading capacities for flying PA Systems at your monstrous events. Special ultra high-strength steel alloys allow truss sections to handle an average of 2.5x more loading at just double the weight compared to aluminium systems with the same dimensions and under the same deflection.

A single tower can safely fly up to 2,500kg without the need for guy wires and little to no ballast (up to 2t) due to the self-weight of the tower (70kg/metre). And thanks to its extreme stability, secured structures can withstand wind loadings of up to 28m/second.

Features and benefits:
  • Up to 20+ metres high
  • Constructed with MILOS S-QTQT Ultra High-Strength Steel Truss (780 x 780mm; 40 metre spans with UDL 76kg/m)
  • Integrated steel base with outriggers (3m outriggers at front/back and 2m on each side)
  • Steel base lugs feature a variety of guy wire attachment points
  • Optimized dimensions for packaging and/or nesting in truck
  • Profiles with OD’s to suit scaff clamps
  • Pinned connectors for increased safety and strength
  • Integrated forklift pickup points
  • End frames equipped with lateral connection options
Size and weight capacities:
  • Front face of PA: 10 m2
  • Side face of PA: 5m2 max.
  • Loading capacity: 2,500 kg

PA Tower Case Study – Citizen’s Festival in Berlin, German

Two MILOS Steel PA Towers were used to safely fly sound reinforcement equipment at the German Unity Day in Berlin earlier this year, which had close to 600,000 people in attendance from Germany and abroad. Although the event was subject to strong gusts of wind, combined with cold and rainy weather, the two steel PA Towers stood rock solid and stable.

The 20 metre high Steel PA towers, which flanked both sides of the massive stage, were constructed with MILOS S-M780 Quatro steel truss. Each tower supported 2500kg of PA and featured a front surface area of 10 m2, side surface area of 5m2, and a 2 metre cantilever, thereby making them a good choice for any conceivable main and delay tower application.

The extraordinary load-bearing capacity of MILOS Steel PA Towers was thoroughly tested during the cold and wet Berlin event, where the German Weather Service issued a storm warning with winds gusting up to 70 km/h. While the children's and family area in the Tiergarten was closed for safety concerns, the Citizen’s Festival at the Brandenburg Gate took place as planned, thanks to the wind and weatherproof MILOS Steel PA Towers.
