MILOS MR2K Roof System Marks Major HTS Creative Investment with McFly-Led Debut at St Mary's Stadium
MILOS MR2K Roof System Marks Major HTS Creative Investment with McFly-Led Debut at St Mary's Stadium
HTS Creative has expanded its staging capabilities with the addition of a custom-configured MILOS MR2K Keder 16 x 12 metre roof system — the largest staging structure in the company’s fleet to date.
The system made its debut at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton, supporting McFly as they headlined in front of tens of thousands of fans alongside Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Scouting for Girls at one of the south coast’s standout live music events of the summer.

A Step Change in Capability
The new MR2K 16-metre roof system represents a significant expansion of HTS Creative’s staging and production capabilities. Featuring an impressive 14,500kg main grid payload, the structure is capable of supporting large-scale lighting rigs, automation, LED video systems, audio infrastructure and complex production designs typically associated with major touring and festival productions.
That capacity was achieved through close collaboration between HTS Creative, Area Four Industries - Technical Director Norbert Tripp and his engineering team, together with the A4i UK team. Incorporating a custom M760 mother grid and dedicated rear and side technical areas, the resulting structure has been specifically configured to maximise rigging capacity, operational efficiency and production flexibility.
Drawing on HTS Creative’s extensive experience delivering complete technical production solutions, the system has been designed to function as a production workspace as much as a stage roof. Dedicated technical areas and infrastructure have been developed around the real-world requirements of touring productions, festivals and major outdoor events, ensuring the structure performs as effectively backstage as it does centre stage.
The project combined HTS Creative’s practical operational experience with MILOS’ engineering expertise, creating a highly capable staging solution tailored to the demands of modern live events.
The Debut
The inaugural deployment could hardly have been more high-profile. McFly: Live at St Mary’s attracted tens of thousands of fans to Southampton FC’s 32,000-seat stadium, creating a festival atmosphere within the stadium bowl.
Joe Morris, Managing Director of HTS Creative, said:
“The addition of the 16-metre MR2K marks another important milestone in HTS Creative’s journey. Over the last two decades, we’ve continued to reinvest in our people, equipment and capabilities, steadily expanding the scale and complexity of the projects we can support. This investment is a natural next step in that progression.
What has been particularly rewarding is the response we’ve received from clients, promoters and industry partners. The level of interest, feedback and early commitment to the structure has been extremely encouraging and gives us confidence that we’re investing in the right areas to support the future needs of the live events industry.
To see the stage make its debut at St Mary’s Stadium, supporting an event of this scale, was a proud moment for the entire team. We’re excited to see it supporting festivals, concerts and outdoor events across the UK throughout the season ahead.”
Building on Established Credentials
The investment builds on HTS Creative’s established reputation in touring, festivals and outdoor events. The company’s existing 12-metre MILOS MR2K roof system is currently supporting the 21-date Sausage & Cider Festival tour, demonstrating the team’s ability to deliver complex outdoor productions consistently at scale across the UK.
The addition of the 16-metre system opens up a new tier of production opportunity, allowing HTS Creative to support larger events and increasingly ambitious technical specifications while continuing to provide integrated staging, structures, audio, lighting, video and power solutions from a single supplier.
Following its successful debut at St Mary’s Stadium, the new MR2K roof system is already scheduled to support a number of major festivals, concerts and outdoor events throughout the 2026 season.
Theresa Gibson – Head of Marketing A4I UK concludes:
“At A4I UK, we're proud to see leading production partners like HTS Creative continue to invest in infrastructure that enables bigger, safer and more ambitious live events. The debut of the MILOS MR2K 16m roof system at St Mary's Stadium provided the perfect showcase for its capabilities, and it's fantastic to see it supporting an event of this scale with McFly headlining. We look forward to seeing the system play a key role in many more successful productions as HTS continues to grow its offering across the UK live events market.”
